Learning Nature’s Way, a new environmental education initiative for New Brunswick schools

The Conservation Council of New Brunswick (CCNB), the New Brunswick Environmental Network (NBEN) and Nature NB are partnering to launch Learning Nature’s Way — an exciting new nature education initiative for New Brunswick schools. This project, supported by the Government of Canada through the Environmental Damages Fund’s Climate Action and Awareness Fund, will get students learning outside, exploring nature, and discovering how they can make a real difference in their communities. 

Species Spotlight: Andrena, the Mining Bees

If you’ve ever spent time exploring the first wildflowers to bloom around your home in the early-Spring, you’ve probably seen some wild bees that look similar to bumblebees. But, these bees are much too slender, and typically much too small to be bumblebees. These bees were likely mining bees.

This past maple season, I got the chance to work at the Fundy Maple sugar shack—a mesmerizing experience. Every year, I’d heard stories of the magic of sugar harvest season. In 2025, the season was short, but sweet. Even then, I enjoyed it!
