NatureKids – September 2024
NatureKids is back and groups have been getting outside and exploring the colours of fall via… Mushrooms !
The Cub Club kids enjoyed searching and identifying mushrooms

The children at Munchkins Afterschool group really enjoyed the mushroom hunting and were amazed to find out that mushrooms can have so many different colours!

Munchkins Clubhouse kids investigated many mushrooms and compared all the colours. They also had fun creating their own mushrooms out of sticks and clay!

With dry conditions and no mushrooms in sight, Here We Grow got creative with their nature activities this month, using the fall colour swatches to do a matching game…

…and then used what they had collected to make nature frames.

The group also went on a nature walk on the local walking trail, collecting rocks to paint and returning them for walkers to find and enjoy.

With not many mushrooms in sight in their schoolyard either, the students from 2B La Source used their colour chips to match other elements of nature like this tree! ?
