NatureKids – September 2023

This September, participating NatureKids groups took the time to enjoy the last hints of summer as monarchs migrate and our small critter friends get ready for the cold winter!

The Hampton Fresh Air Cooperative went outside and had a great time searching for all things bugs during their Buggy Bingo activity, and got to play as monarchs in the migration game.

Tucker Park organized a Gettin’ Buggy activity with the Saint John Newcomers Centre! Children and parents had a great time learning about biodiversity and the insects that live around us.

The Grand Lake NatureKids explored the Minto Northside Park Trails, learning about the difference in insects and arachnids and going on a buggy bingo adventure as they hiked. The rain didn’t stop this group from having a blast on their local trails!

The Fredericton Boys and Girls Club said some participants started out hating bugs, but by the end of the Buggy Bingo Hunt, they were asking to do it again! One group did it twice in one day!

The YMCA of Greater Moncton found 3 different caterpillars and a great variety of spiders during their Buggy Bingo Hunt! Keep those eyes peeled because you never know what you might see.

If you want to try your hand at some buggy fun, check out the suggested activities below.
