New Brunswick gears up for the City Nature Challenge
Nature NB and the provincial community of naturalists are leading the 2024 City Nature Challenge in New Brunswick. Well-known as an international initiative to highlight and record biodiversity, the CNC takes place in April 26th-29th.
Using iNaturalist, participants are encouraged to get out into their backyards and local parks to make observations of the local flora and fauna.
Nature NB is hosting a series of hikes over the four-day event to collaborate with naturalists, green or seasoned to help form a clearer picture of biodiversity in New Brunswick. No experience necessary, and guidance with iNaturalist will be provided. The data collected is open source and can be used by conservation organizations, researchers and citizens alike.
