Nature and Climate: The Twin Crises
Nature NB recognizes that our climate is changing and that these has clear impacts on our natural history, wildlife, and communities. We are already seeing the impacts of climate change in New Brunswick from increased erosion, flood risk, and heat waves.
Fortunately, our natural areas can help.

Wetlands, forests, dunes, and other natural systems help protect our communities from the brunt of climate change. For example, wetlands and forests can slow and store rain water, reducing the risk of flooding in downstream areas while healthy vegetated dune systems act as an anchor to reduce coastal erosion.
Supporting these types of nature-based climate approaches create win-win-win scenarios for wildlife, climate, and our communities.
What we are doing
Nature NB works with individuals, municipalities, NGOs, and other groups to build expertise and capacity for nature-based climate action in New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada. Check out the links below to learn more about some of our projects with our partners.
