COVID-19 and the Festival of Nature
UPDATE MARCH 31, 2020 — As you can imagine, it has been a busy week of meetings and discussions for our staff and board members about how to proceed with the 2020 Festival of Nature in light of COVID-19 being named a pandemic.
Based on recent recommendations from local public health authorities and the World Health Organization, we have made the decision to postpone the 2020 Festival of Nature until June 2021. We believe that this is the responsible decision to ensure that our community remains safe and healthy.
In 2021, we will once again plan to host the Festival in Fredericton, and we hope that the Festival schedule will remain largely the same.
While we may not be gathering together in June, our staff will continue to find ways to help you connect with each other and with nature. Our work in conservation and protected natural area stewardship also continues. Thank you for your understanding and we hope to see you all in Fredericton in 2021!
PS – We are planning to hold our Annual General Meeting online in June 2020. We will send an updated invitation when details are available.
UPDATE MARCH 18 2020 — Please note that the UNB Summer Hotel will be closed until the end of June. Participants who reserved a room will receive a notice from UNB.
MARCH 13, 2020 — We are closely monitoring and evaluating the situation around the Coronavirus (COVID-19) to ensure that we are taking the necessary measures as recommended by New Brunswick’s Chief Medical Officer. It is our utmost priority to protect the health and wellbeing of all Festival of Nature attendees, staff, and volunteers.
As of today, the Festival of Nature will go on as planned for June 5th to 7th, 2020 in Fredericton, NB.
We will continue to monitor the situation and will communicate via email if that status changes. Any modifications to the schedule, including cancellation (and refunds), will be sent to all ticket holders. Notices about these changes will also be posted on social media.
Registration will take place as planned, beginning Monday March 16th for members and April 1st for the general public.
