I am creative
- Submit an article for the NB Naturalist. We are always on the lookout for natural history articles. (Have a look at our archive for some inspiration)
- Share your nature photography. We are always looking for photos to use in our educational publications and social media.
- Write a blog post. We love sharing interesting articles from our followers. Check out our Blog archive for a taste of what we typically publish.
- Are you proficient in English and French? We are always looking for volunteer translators for many of our publications.
I want to get outside and explore nature
- Join a local nature club. Nature NB has a network of local nature clubs that meet regularly for field trips and guest speakers. Find one if your area:
- Attend a workshop/event; Nature NB hosts regular nature workshops and events. Keep an eye on our newsletter and social media for the most up to date information.
- Join NatureKids: Do you want to spend time exploring nature with your local school or community group? We offer monthly education kits that will guide you through some independent nature exploration.
- Visit our 13 Walks with a Naturalist and send us feedback.
I want to speak up for nature
- Join our board of directors; Our board of directors is an integral part to our organization’s mission. Our board members serve as ambassadors for the organization and support our mission through feedback and committee work. For more information, check out our board recruitment information package.
- Local calls to action. Nature NB works on many provincial and local advocacy campaigns. We work closely with a variety of stakeholders and often encourage our supporters to send letters of support to their local representatives. Sign up for our newsletter to be in the know!
I want to take action for nature
Nature NB has a variety of community science programs for every skill level and interest.
- Join as a Waterbird survey volunteer in the Saint John and Belldune areas
- Become a Protected Natural Areas steward
- Join one of Monarch survey events this summer
- Participate in our Seed Sitters Club to help find and propagate native plants
- Use iNaturalist to make observations about the natural world in your backyard
- Use eBird to record your bird sightings
- Use your smart phone to participate in the City Nature Challenge
