Have Your Say!
When New Brunswickers head to the polls for the upcoming provincial election, there are many issues that we know you’ll have in mind: cost of living, healthcare, education, the list goes on.
But we’re asking you to make room for one more; we’re asking you to vote for nature.
A vote for nature is a vote for:
- WILDLIFE AND HABITAT – We’re urging candidates to commit to: protecting 30% of land and ocean in NB by 2030; updating and implementing new environmental protection legislation, and; creating new Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas.
- HEALTH – Access to natural spaces is key to both the physical and mental health of individuals and of our communities as a whole. Increasing protected areas provides more space for people to get outside.
- AFFORDABILITY – Beyond the intrinsic value of nature, the presence of natural spaces in our communities provides low- to no-cost outdoor activities for locals, drives the tourism and recreation industries, includes nature-based solutions to save money on disaster recovery, and more.
- EDUCATION – Providing access to nature for children is a key element in providing New Brunswick youth with a well-rounded education. Through outdoor learning and nature-based play, having natural spaces available in both urban and rural areas creates even more opportunities for young people to explore their interests.

Show your dedication by taking our pledge to keep nature in mind when you cast your ballot on October 21, 2024.
