NatureKids – End of Year 2024

For May, with Spring quickly arriving, participating NatureKids were encouraged to go outside and look for Flowers and Pollinators. 

The Fredericton Boys and Girls Club had loads of fun crafting some suncatchers inspired by the pollinators in their neighborhood. 

Les Hérons de 2b had a special guest, with a local biologist visiting to talk about the ecosystems in the school yard and even creating an “ecological corner.”

The Hampton Fresh Air collective equipped themselves with nets and went critter dipping, finding all sorts of creatures!

With May wrapping up, this ends another amazing year of NatureKids programming.

Look at that leaderboard! We had a total of 11 groups participating in 42 outings and we congratulate each and every one of you for getting inspiration from the materials provided and exploring the nature around you!

Tied in second, with six outings each is the Here We Grow Explorers and Les Hérons de 2b. And in first place, congratulations to the Hampton Fresh Air Collective with a total of nine activities, going outdoors every single month!

This year we have two prizes! Our first prize winner, for participating in the most outings, is the Hampton Fresh Air Collective. They win a $25.00 gift card to the outdoor learning store and will get to choose between a classroom Birding Kit which includes a bird feeder, bird guide and other teaching materials OR a classroom Bug Hunt Kit which includes a class set of magnifying glasses, insect guide and other teaching materials.  

Our second prize comes from the raffle, where each outing is an extra chance to win. This year’s raffle winner is Here We Grow! Second prize is a $25.00 gift card to the outdoor learning store.
